Mike feels exceptionally fortunate (and rather surprised) to have been the director of the West Sound Chorus for 25 years. He is a published arranger and a two-time Evergreen District champion quartet singer, as well as being honored as an Evergreen District Hall of Fame member in 2022. He recently retired, having taught for more than 30 years in the Central Kitsap School District. He lives in Silverdale with his sweetheart Carol, and you may see him on the pickleball court getting routine drubbings from his daughter Alena.
He has been a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society since 1979. Most of the music the chorus sings has been arranged or touched in some way by Mike. His devotion to musical excellence, as well as hard work, have been the “guiding light” for the chorus. Mike invites men who love harmony and fellowship to join us on the risers on Wednesday evenings.
